Well I did some canning last night and it turned out better then I thought. It was the first time I had done it with out Mom helping. I have to say I think I did pretty good. 37 jars of pickles, 3 green beans, and 13 quarts size jars of cauliflower and carrots. I only had one jar of cauliflower that didn't seal the rest were perfect.
At the moment I am printing out the instruction book to mom's pressure cooker, because over the years it has done the disappearing act.
I think Vern and I headed off to Walmart to see what they have for canning salsa. I have found some recipe's on-line but they all take a ton of tomatoes and those aren't cheap. I remember last year at Walmart, there was a pack of seasoning for salsa canning and it had a good recipe on the back of it. So I think we might go on a search for that.
My dilemma is that everyone one is Alaska just got their PFD's yesterday which I am VERY thankful for. However, that means that Walmart is probaboly going to be a ZOO and I haven't convinced myself that is what I want to deal with this morning, so I guess we will see what I endup doing.
Have a good weekend!

Wow! That is alot of Pickles. I don't think we did near that many pickles. I would like to can some salsa too. Maybe my bride will want to when our couple of tomatoe plants turn red. We were gonna go to the farmers market this morning and get some more green beens, but we didn't get moving fast enough. We were up until about three this morning. Ash took Stu to the hospital last night at midnight. Turned out to have a double ear infection. Catch you guys later.
You sure were busy. I told Grady is was because you don't have kids yet. ha..ha..ha. If you find the salsa stuff and love it...let me know. Sounds like he's wanting some of that now. Good luck with Wally World. We have those days when the indians get their government checks and it isn't fun.
What a bunch of pickles!! I guess Vern has lunch for awhile!! LOL!! How's Vern's arm?
